PMP prep is broken
Expensive, exhausting, and about to get harder. There's a better way to earn one of project management's most valuable credentials.
Prep is expensive
Traditional PMP courses and bootcamps run $200 to $1,000+ before you've answered a single practice question. Most people pay for far more content than they ever finish.
It eats your life
PMI wants 35 contact hours just to qualify, and most candidates study 3–6 months on top of a full-time job. Long lecture videos are where motivation goes to die.
The exam is genuinely hard
First-attempt pass rates sit around 40–45%. Scenario questions punish rote memorization — you need to actually think like a project manager under time pressure.
And it's changing in 2026
On July 9, 2026 PMI launches a new exam on PMBOK® 8: more agile and hybrid (a 60/40 split), Business Environment jumping to ~26%, plus new case-study and drag-and-drop questions. Old prep is already out of date.
The PMP exam changes on July 9, 2026
PMI is launching a new exam on the PMBOK® Guide 8th Edition. If you're studying with last year's material, you're already behind. We built for the new exam from day one.
The 2026 update also adds case-study question sets and drag-and-drop formats, extends the exam by 10 minutes, doubles the unscored pretest items, and — for the first time — describes projects that use AI in its scenarios. Our lessons and question bank are built around the new Examination Content Outline, so you study what's actually on the exam you'll sit.
Why we call it the Duolingo for PMP
The method that makes language apps addictive — short lessons, streaks, spaced repetition — pointed straight at passing the PMP.
Bite-sized lessons
Every PMP concept broken into 5–10 minute lessons you can finish on a coffee break, on your phone, anywhere. Progress you can actually keep up.
Spaced repetition
The app tracks what you've mastered and quietly resurfaces the weak spots at the right time — so knowledge sticks without endless re-reading.
Streaks and XP
Daily streaks, points, and levels make showing up the easy default. Motivation by design, not willpower — the same reason Duolingo works.
Real exam-style questions
Scenario, case-study, and drag-and-drop practice modeled on the 2026 exam, each with a plain-English explanation of why the right answer is right.
Readiness score
A live estimate of how likely you are to pass, by domain, so you always know exactly what to study next instead of guessing.
Built to get you passed
Everything points at one outcome: walking into the exam confident, on your first attempt, without burning months or a fortune.

The Project Management Professional (PMP)® is the industry-standard project management certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). It proves you can lead projects across predictive, agile, and hybrid approaches, and it's one of the most recognized — and best-paid — credentials in project management worldwide.
It's how we describe our study app: instead of a long, expensive course, you learn the PMP in short daily lessons with practice questions, streaks, and a readiness score. The same bite-sized, gamified method that makes language apps stick — pointed at passing the PMP exam. It's free during early access.
Early access is free. We're opening the app to a limited group of users first to refine it, so there's no charge and no obligation to join the waitlist. Join below and we'll invite you as spots open.
Most candidates study 3–6 months, or roughly 35–100+ hours, alongside PMI's required 35 contact hours of project-management education. Our app is designed to make that time far more efficient — 10 focused, spaced-repetition minutes a day instead of marathon cram sessions.
Yes. On July 9, 2026 PMI launches a new exam aligned to PMBOK® Guide 8th Edition and an updated Examination Content Outline. It leans further into agile and hybrid (about a 60/40 split versus predictive), raises the Business Environment domain to roughly 26%, and adds case-study and drag-and-drop question formats. Our lessons and practice questions are built for the new exam.
Yes. You register for and take the official PMP exam through PMI. Our app is a study tool that gets you ready — it doesn't replace PMI membership, the application, or the exam itself.
No. PMP® and PMBOK® are registered marks of the Project Management Institute, Inc. CertNova is an independent study tool that helps you prepare for the exam. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by PMI. You still register for and sit the official exam through PMI.
CertNova — the team behind CBA Pro and NPPE Pro, tools that already help engineers in Canada pass tough licensing exams and competency assessments. We're applying the same approach to the PMP: make hard exams easy to study for, a few minutes at a time.
PMP® and PMBOK® are registered marks of the Project Management Institute, Inc. CertNova builds an independent study tool to help you prepare and is not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by PMI.
Summary: the Duolingo for PMP
CertNova is building an app-based PMP exam prep tool — described as the "Duolingo for PMP" — that teaches the Project Management Professional syllabus in short, gamified daily lessons with spaced-repetition practice questions and a live readiness score. It targets the pain points of traditional PMP prep: high cost ($200–$1,000+ courses), long study time (35 required contact hours plus 3–6 months), and a difficult exam (roughly 40–45% first-attempt pass rate). Content is aligned to the new 2026 PMP exam based on the PMBOK® Guide 8th Edition, which increases agile and hybrid coverage and adds case-study and drag-and-drop questions from July 9, 2026. The tool is free during an early-access rollout to selected users, who join by submitting their contact details. CertNova is independent and not affiliated with PMI.
