A rule, not a disclaimer
Every AI writing tool has a paragraph somewhere about verifying the output. That paragraph is doing nothing. If the model produces a fluent, specific, plausible sentence containing a number it made up, the odds that a tired applicant catches it at 11pm are not good.
CBA Pro takes the opposite approach: make the gap visible instead of filling it. The core prompt rules bar the model from supplying any fact it was not given. Where a fact is missing, the output contains a bracket, such as [applicable standard], [measured outcome] or [start date], that is hard to miss. A guided wizard walks you through each one, and the readiness hint names any that are left.
This is also stated to you before you write anything. The onboarding consent step says what the AI will not do (invent projects, inflate your role, add outcomes you did not achieve, or claim standards you did not apply) and asks you to confirm you have read it, rather than burying it in the terms.

Is it ethical to use AI on a Competency-Based Assessment?
It can be, but your regulator draws the line, and the wording differs. PEO's April 2026 application form says: "If you have used AI tools or other aids in drafting your responses, you take full responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of the information you have provided." APEGS's CBA declaration makes you responsible whether or not you used AI tools or editors. EGBC's guide is stricter: "the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and third parties to create or embellish workplace examples is strictly prohibited", and Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, Engineers Nova Scotia and Engineers PEI also prohibit using AI to create or embellish examples.
Whatever the wording, the line runs through the substance. Choosing which project demonstrates a competency is yours. Stating what you personally decided is yours. Supplying the standard you worked to and the outcome you measured is yours.
